thanks for posting these up. i prefer v2. because the rules are lighter. i'd maybe go without those rules altogether. still needs some work on cleaning up. looks like you're going for the clean look. i think there are too many typefaces on the page...or too many weights..dont like the theory in the colored box.
you should check out this book "how to be a graphic designer without losing your soul" not for the content (altho the content is pretty inspiring) but the design of the book is done very well. there is A LOT of text, some images... and the book uses 2 pms colors... every single paragraph is justified and the studio manually kerned every one of them.
not saying you need to pay that much attention to the text....(your text has some problems with line breaks) but you should check out book interior designs and figure out why some work and some dont.
